We tried the Brew Bar which features an extensive coffee menu including V-60 filter, kuhl-cher cold press, chemex, aeropress, colddrip coffee, small batch brew, and cold brew fizz (coldbrew, fresh lemon, mint and fizz). A popular spot. brisbanista.com.au
We love our coffee and we live down the street so we decided to check out the new spot. As we walk in we did not feel like it was very inviting at all. We are not coffee snobs so we wanted to learn how the different methods work, the barista was almost annoyed that we asked for a recommendation, after staring at us blankly she recomenda Chemex which looked cool enough, have no idea what that meant to us. We awkwardly paid the $6 and asked if we could have the Brazil bean and to our surprise they actually had no single origin beans available(but had it on display). Then we asked if it could be take away because we were feeling so uncomfortable and wanted to get out of there. Im not sure if maybe we just dont fit the profile of this coffee shop or maybe we just cant get the knowledge given to us to turn into one. After 20minutes waiting we get our coffee, was the coffee good? No, it tasted like airport coffee.
