Updated review (June 2018)Rating 3.5.Went here for weekday dinner with the family. It was fairly bustling, however there were still plenty of tables left for those without reservations. We ordered (i) mushroom cups with cheese, lemon and pinenuts – simple in flavours, just as advertised; (ii) harira soup with additional lamb – also quite simple in flavours, however warm and comforting on a winter’s night; (iii) roasted vegetables tagine – a highlight, warm textural and full of flavour; (iv) baharat lamb shish – a bit of theaterics on presentation with wood smoked chips, however the smoke settled within a few seconds and the lamb was a little dry; (v) garlic chicken kebab – standard in flavours. There was a little confusion with one of our dishes, therefore the restaurant also presented us with a dish of complimentary (vi) sweet potato falafels – which were unfortunately dry and crumbly in texture. The grilled orders on the night also came with complimentary soft drinks, beer or wines.Casual ambience. Our table was full and the table next to us was quite full, therefore we were a little disappointed that the heater between us was not turned on given that it was a chilly night and other tables outdoors had nearby heaters that were turned on. Friendly service. Prices on higher end.Once again, a reasonable restaurant for Middle eastern dinner, albeit a little over-hyped._________________________________________________Rating 3.5.Went here for weekend dinner with partner – we didn’t have reservations, however there were a couple of high tables left outside. To start, we ordered the Turkish Delight Martini, which was delightfully sweet and reminiscent of the turkish delight sweet. We ordered the Bone Marrow dip ($12.00) as an entree to share – soft, well-made flat bread with creamy luscious bone marrow; it’s hard to go wrong. For mains, we ordered the Lamb Tagine ($28.00) to share as well- we were a little surprised to see the size/portion of tagine that came out and queried the accompanying cous cous, of which it was pointed out that the cous cous was actually underneath the tagine. Overall, lovely depths of flavour, however we wished that there was just more for the price.Casual ambience. Friendly service, albeit it took awhile for our orders to be attended. Prices are on the higher end.Overall, a reasonable restaurant for Middle eastern dinner, albeit a little over-hyped.
Consistently great experience. Food is awesome and service is friendly and efficient. If youre looking for unique, beautiful, (hard to find) flavour packed dishes then you seriously need to give it a try! I went here on the Saturday night (busy and buzzing, so maybe book for a larger party) and had the haloumi and spiced eggplant pizza and a Turkish delight martini, so good. Will be back!
The food is excellent middle eastern. The service consistently indifferent. Delivery is expensive for what it is but better than the actual restaurant experience which has disappointed despite our interest in the top quality food
