We’ve been to Ribs & Rumps purely when we have a big group of people with kids in toe. They have a good range of dishes (the Rocket & Pear Saladwith chicken is a good option for those who aren’t huge rib fans) and their pork ribs are particularly yummy. Not overly impressed with their steaks however. If it was just us two heading out for ribs we much prefer the Smoke BBQ in nearby New Farm.
The food is good, the wait is impossible, the usual wait is at least one hour. that is too much if you really want to eat. 2 years ago the services was impeccable, but some thing change and now the food is less, the service is different and the wait is for ever, my friend all comment on the waiting time.
We ( table of 8) had dinner on Saturday the 16th of Dec 2017. The food in general was really good and we enjoyed it, the only thing that was a let down was the oysters killpatrick, I am comfortable in saying these would have been the worse I have ever had. Very disappointed. The main meal came out at the same time as our entrees,again that was disappointing and there a serve lack in table service, we literally had to chase down wait staff to order drinks and as a result not much was drank by a table of drinkers. I understand that they were busy but to not be able to get drinks was again disappointing.
We went here after planning something else and it not being an option anymore.We were sat straight away and ordered drinks.They came back to get our order and we got our entree super quick which was great as we were starving.We had the sizzling mushrooms and they were divine.We then shared the 1kg ribs plate with sides of mash. Absolutely delish. Service was great and good was top notch. I would definitely recommend.
Had the combo ribs and rump , ribs were ok nothing special and my steak was pretty average , my partner had the same but with lamb ribs which once again were average , he enjoyed his steak a lot .We ordered all of the sauces but none of them were even tasty at all . I would have also preferred a bit more coleslaw on my plate .My conclusion, as I am someone who prefers the more quality food experience this place was not to my liking …
Really loved the service and the food here. The pork ribs are A+ I also haven’t really encountered the long wait times that have been mentioned in other reviews, but we only ever go with a party of 4-6, so maybe that makes a difference.If I had a better metabolism I would be here every day 🙂
You won’t walk away hungry from this place. You can get your ribs in 1kg or 500g sizes (or other sizes when combined with a steak in a combo). The ribs come in beef, lamb or pork variants and the pork ribs even come in standard or premium (meatier, less fatty) versions. For those that don’t want ribs or rumps there are some other options (eg chicken Parma). A nice low light atmosphere and good service make this a good option for carnivores!
