Swung by Yard Bird for some Saturday arvo snacks and drinks with friends. We had the antipasto platter, which was surprisingly big for $18 and some interesting tap beers. Service was quite friendly when we were trying to decide on beers and food came out quickly. Would return – particularly to try their famed Chicken Wings.
Known for their wings which is why The Dear Luncher ventured out to find Yard Bird. Being an ale house the expectation was that there would be some seriously good craft beer. Not a single decent beer on tap, but the evening was saved by some or their bottled selections. Sierra Nevada Beer Camp was the order of the day. Six of the original wings were requested and they were excellent. The cheeseburger was also excellent. Well constructed, melted cheese, loads of pickles and a very tidy bun allowing for easy eating. The wings are definitely a reason to visit in their own. Very nice touch providing both ranch AND blue cheese dipping sauces. The Dear Luncher will be back. thedearluncher.wordpress.com
Wings were the best thing on the menu, but they had changed the last time I went in (a few weeks ago). Sitting outside is much nicer then inside, but the food Ive found to be too ambiousious, which results in dissapointment for the customer. I go back because im local, wouldnt recommend otherwise.

Yard Bird is my go to place for wings and beer if I want to sit down and eat with mates. The wings are always consistent. I have tried other stuff on their menu and the servings are massive. Great value for money. It is always buzzing at nighttime. During the day it is a bit quiet but I have had some good lumch sessions here in the past. You definitely need to try the food here if you have not already! Dear owner. Nice one! Casual, easy going, friendly staff, cracker menu, (damn those wings are hot)! Love the old movies playing inside. I am now a regular!
If you’re on the hunt for some tasty chicken wings, then this is the place to come. My absolute favourite is the chipotle BBQ. They have mastered this sauce, sweet and tangy with a great smoky flavour from the chipotles. The wings, although smothered in this smoky/sweet sauce, still manage to maintain a crispy underlay! This dish is not spicy at all. If you are looking for a spicy one and can handle the heat then you should get the death sentence wings…you have been warned though…these are HOT HOT HOT. I had a taste and my mouth was on fire. The garlic and Parmesan wings are my second favourite. They also do great chilli cheese fries. The burgers are not the best here. Come for the wings!!!
