The restaurant has the attraction of its location in an historic Queenslander set amongst farm and vines. First the good news: some good choices on the menu and lovely setting on the verandah looking at the misty Tamborine Mountain. Entrees tried were a thick and wholesome broccoli soup and a nice crisply fried Calamari. Mains included Barramundi with macadamia crust and sweet potato and roast Chicken with pumpkin, potato and mushrooms that were well cooked and presented.. Wines are mainly from local grapes, however on our offering came with a package and were barely drinkable. A couple of sips were enough of the Chardonnay and Shiraz as they were past their expiry. As they were part of the package, didn’t bother with a replacement but tried the wine tasting to find some others so visitors should try first if you wish to indulge in the local wine, otherwise the package price was OK for meal.

Diana. We found Albert River Wines on voucher deal & were happy we did. The service was exceptionally friendly & courteous. The house where we dined was a magnificent older style Queenslander ( I understand it is part of the old Tamborine House-they actually use it for functions I believe), we were seated on the large airy verandah beneath Mt Tamborine. Freshly picked flowers on most of the tables was a nice touch too. Our food was plentiful & fresh. The entree was a trio of dips, the olive one was particularly flavoursome. mains were a hit & miss, I was the loser. My friend ordered the baramudi which was perfectly cooked & the accompanying mash & leaves was also great ( itasted & can confirm!) I ordered the vegetarian option which was tofu with sundried tomatoes & salad. Am not a lover of sundried tomatoe (didn’t see it on the menu actually-my fault bad chioce) & the tofu was a little dried out-overcooked. The wine we had with the meal was the sparkling they use at the wedding functions (there own Albert River variety) & we both thought it was delightful, crisp & fresh perfect on a warm Autumn afternoon, highly recommended

Set menu Sunday. 3 course set menu $44 for a relaxing Sunday lunch. A little lean on the amount of prawns in the entree and chicken a bit dry but all in all good value for money. Service friendly and timely, wait staff attentive when required. Great view sitting out on the verandah

Came here for a relaxing lunch with a set menu… Ordered the chicken main only to be told there was only one chicken left… Who is in charge of ordering? Nearly every table had chicken, poor poor planning! Disappointed.Had the veal instead; still not impressed. Barely any wine selection for a winery. Hmm.

Good pizza; takeaway is fair. When busy can take a while… Great local wines which should take the edge off any delays!Great location, but don’t expect fine fare – it is what it is; solid homemade Italian food; pizza and pasta – forget the veal.

Lunch and wines what else do you need??. I purchased this for myself and elderly father (who loves a quiet drop of red) via another scoopon deal.Good pricing as it included a glass of wine each, plus an entree and main each, as well as complimentary wine tasting and discounts on wine bottles purchased & a voucher for a return visit. In short food was lovely, wine very mediocre. We both ate lemon pepper squid and it was fine.. Not fantastic or delish, but it was quite enjoyable. We then had porterhouse for our main and both cooked as ordered, tender and decent size of serving.Even the wine tastings at the cellar door seemed watery. Service a little hit and miss. We went for lunch and ate out on the verandah (which was where everyone else was) however we were in a main thoroughfare and felt like we had to lean away from people as they charged past. The vines appeared to need a good weed and alot of TLC. I noted they advertised a 3 course sunday lunch for $35 per head which I thought would have been great value if the food was to the standard we ate at.I’m really not capturing my hesitation well, but this place just lacked ambiance. I really felt like the staff were frenetic with NFI what they were actually doing. Reminded me of buzzing little bees zapping about the place, not how I pictured having a leisurely lunch at a winery overlooking the vineyards etc. When we first arrived, we seemed to just stand around and be ignored. We felt like we were in the way (we probably were LOL!!!) even though I had clearly communicated to them (in email as instructed) what time we’d arrive and as we did -to the minute (as oldies uncannily do!!) which was also within their opening hours felt the service rather dysfunctional. We’d return for their $35 meal deal, but rather in a group so we can be clumped off out of the way and entertain each other.I note I’m the only reviewer, so I’d be keen to hear what others think if they visit the place!
