A couple weeks ago when we took a trip up the mountain for a walk through the forest we saw this cafe a little further up at the top of the mountain and decided to have a little early morning snack before the walk. The restaurant has a beautiful view and a pretty good amount of seating as well as a range of yummy stuff on the menu. We ordered a pot of tea and some scones and it was speedy despite the early morning crowd. The scones were delicious and the tea selection was nice. I’ll definitely come back to this cafe next time we visit and I look forward to trying out a meal.

Diana. We recently spent an overnight stay at Binna Burra & were quite charmed by the wonderful hospitality we received. The overnight package we had included all meals & a cheese platter at sunset. The platter was served by a roaring fire just on sunset -nice romantic touch there! When we were called in for dinner an hour or so later (they actually ring a bell !) we were in great anticipation of the delights to come. Started off with an interesting soup, not a great fan of mushrooms myself but this was quite good with the addition of corn, lovely homemade flavour & served with crusty hot bread straight from the oven. Then came the main course which I had ordered the salmon with stir fried veg. Found the salmon to be a little dry around the edges & the veges were not cooked enough, very very crisp (OK for me but not for a lot of the older patrons who were there that night I imagine?) The chef actually made an appearance & he was such a freindly soul & very concerned about his fare. There were some great comments from our table with regard to the Diane sauce on the steak, seemed to be the hit of the night (an old family recipe we were told!) Deserts were another hit, a grand selection of stars like tiramisu, crumbles & pecan tarts. Incidently the latter were just melt in the mouth yum! They have a great selection of wines & the views from the dining area are just magic, what a great place for a romantic weekend
