Complexity and Value. Sharing a mixed entree for 3, the burrah kebab (marinated tandoori lamb chop) was the standout pick with superbly intense flavour complemented by dipping sauce. Samosa was well filled and tasty and boneless chicken cooked in tandoor had good flavour. Our main courses were each characteristic with the daal tadka most interesting with the onion, ginger and spices imparting layers of complexity to the richness of the overall experience. Palak Gosht (Punjabi spinach with lamb) had a nice sweetness to the spicy finish and the chicken tikka masala had the richness of the tomato and coriander sauce to present another perspective to the palate. The service, on a quiet Monday night, was good and BYO needed if your tastes are other than lassi, soft drinks, juice and tea. As we asked for ‘hot’ in our spice choice, the chef achieved the right measure of heat without overpowering the spice combinations, achieving a very good result. Dishes were served with a generous amount of fragrant rice. Although a range of plain and filled breads were available, we were glad not to order as we were well satisfied with our choices.
