Service was haphazard and staff were not knowledgeable about the menu and in particular whether there was gluten in certain dishes. Escargots were great but served with only a small fork. When I requested the usual escargot tongs, the waiter looked at me as if I was deranged. French Onion soup was oily and lacking flavor. Steak was underdone and there was no dessert without gluten. Champagne choice was poor with some vintages chosen from notoriously bad years. On the upside, the pork dish was excellent and the fries were terrific. Ambience was lovely.

Always happy to visit a French restaurant, I came here with no knowledge of the place and was met with a very friendly welcome at the bar. We hadnt booked so we were grateful that we could be accommodated. At the bar we had a drink. I had G&T and my friend a glass of bubbly. Interestingly, for $12 a glass, the wine measure seemed a little short. When asked, she was told firmly that it was correct and in fact was more than normal – very slim glasses…. not sure Id agree. The food of course was exceptional with one small reservation. We were very ceremoniously given one slice of bread on our side plate. I had the cassoulet, eaten with plenty of bread, one would assume. When I asked for more bread, I was given just one more piece. I considered this quite mean. In all, its worth going to for the food, and ambience, but the overall feeling of being well looked after wasnt there. Could be easily fixed if they cared enough. A small basket of bread on the table is more authentic and welcoming than just one slice for a dish that imbues all that is French!
