  Had take away cod and chips, the cod was quite nice (not too greasy). Overall the meal was satisfactory, nothing special or something that stood out. I did think the portion of chips was a little on the small side. We didn’t get minimum chips, we got the next size up and they did two of us, but if we’d been really hungry it wouldn’t have been enough.

  There was a time when this place was a solid Fish and Chip Shop. Owners changing hands were clearly the problem as, all things have gone downhill since and sadly, you must not waste your hard earned money at Wonderfish. 8 days off work with food poisoning is what I got from Wonderfish! How do I know? Because I had nothing more than a toastie to eat that day and, the smell of my meal was suspicious (which should have stopped me) but I ate as I was hungry and couldn’t be bothered complaining. Barramundi portion can’t have been much more than a 100g piece (guess is that they are cutting fillets in half) and.. MY GOD! It didn’t smell great, taste great and clearly was not good for my stomach. I will not harp on about the attitude of the owners as I can see the other reviews. There is a plus! I lost 10kgs over a traumatic 8 or 9 days so.. Looking to shed some weight? Wonderfish is the place to go! Just be sure to wear a peg on your nose because, you will be wondering about that fish, believe me.

  DO NOT GO HERE. My girlfriend and I have long been customers of Wonderfish. We have a few Fish and Chip shops nearby and lets say.. they were the best of a bad bunch. Moat trips there for a meal for two will set you back around 40 plus dollars which is o.k. You will wait for more than twenty minutes, even if you have rung ahead and booked for a pick-up time.. and I can live with that. The food, whilst edible, questions need to be asked about the hygiene practices in this establishment. I have had a few questions over whether the food is even close to fresh. I am not just some grumpy guy.. I have been a qualified Chef for over fifteen years. My real issue came today. Yesterday I discovered that that had charged me twice for a meal one evening.. $45.80 to be exact and I called to organize a refund as is the fair thing. I had to call back twice and eventually was asked to come into the store with Bank Statements to show them and that we would sort it out. This was not the case. I provided evidence and the owner and the girl working there argued and denied that they had received the money (even though the statement with ‘Wonderfish’ were right in front of me. Then the owner began to teach me a lesson on how eftpos works and basically refused to do the right thing. $91.60 for some some fairly ordinary seafood and served by a rude and incompetent staff. Avoid people.. at all costs!

  WonderFish = Wonderful prices!. This cute little shop has a great selection of inexpensive burgers, sandwiches and of course, fish & chips. Everything cooked fresh and in ample sizes, this place is great value and worth checking out!After exploring the suburb of Graceville, my partner and I came across WonderFish in an area of strip malls which can easily be seen when taking the train. In that it was a nice day and we wanted to have lunch outside, the tables and chairs set up in front of this shop looked cheerful and inviting. The menu was posted in the window and we couldnt believe how inexpensive it was!We popped inside and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman. I ordered the Bacon Burger ($6) and my partner decided to try the Fish & Chips ($8.50) which was one piece of cod in either a regular or crunchy batter. We were also happy to discover that we could use our credit card here.Looking around the little establishment, which was absolutely spotless, there was a glass counter with fresh fillets of fish on display to purchase and take home. I thought this was a neat idea.My partner and I headed outside, picked a table and didnt have to wait very long for our food to be brought out. The size of my bacon burger was quite impressive! Although it didnt come with any chips, it didnt have to; it was pretty big. The bun was fresh and the pattie, which wasnt homemade, fit the entire circumference of the bun. The toppings included beetroot, iceberg lettuce and tomato all generously piled high and the large pieces of bacon added to the entire burger perfectly. I have had more gourmet burgers or ones that had a bit more flavour to them, but the quality, and freshness for $6 is tough to beat!My partners (regular) battered cod was a decent size and did not smell over-powering at all (a very good sign of freshness)! Served with a fair amount of chips, these were deep fried but came out hot, crisp and not dripping in oil. Very lightly salted, my partner did say they did not have as much flavour as would have hoped, but I found the flavour to be delicate and quite enjoyable. We both agreed that these had been cooked from scratch and had not been sitting around. This meal was also garnished with a bit of parsley so it is safe to say that my partner does get an intake of veggies! All in all, we left WonderFish full, satisfied and appreciative of their good food for less money than a lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood. This was a good choice for a quick and inexpensive lunch served by friendly staff at a relaxed pace.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who values their money, and values good quality fresh fish. WonderFish is situated amongst other restaurants with a range of pricing and levels of formality, coffee and dessert establishments and a variety of specialty shops. This is a great destination place as we found it on a weekend and was able to spend a lot of time looking around.
