The best place in Brisbane, my partner (a Chef) and I have been dining here for over 2 years now and we have tried most of the Vietnamese restaurants in West End and Fortitude Valley but Viet Lotus is truly the best! The atmosphere is peaceful and the host/owner Peter is a great guy, hes very knowledgeable about the cuisine and the culture. He once gave us a fish sauce bottle he sells for free purely because he wanted my partner to use it in his cooking and see how good it was, it wasnt about the money for him it was about sharing something with someone else who has a passion for good food and thats a sign of a great person aswell as a great owner of a restaurant. The chicken pho is my favourite but my partners is the Beef, I always get the wontons and sometimes Ill get the mixed basket because I love the lemongrass pork skewers. Im sitting in Rome right now, surrounded by beautiful restaurants that are often booked out but I would much rather have Viet Lotus! I miss eating here, and I honestly think eating pho here has helped my immune system because if Im feeling a cold coming on – I get here as soon as I can and eat a big bowl of Pho and the next day Im fine, or if Im sick I get it delivered because I know it will help me – every time I eat this when Im sick my roommate will even notice I look better the next morning and my partner. Thanks Peter and the team at Viet Lotus, this will be my first meal when I return to Australia in April 2018.
