Check out probably the best bakery in Brisbane tucked inside a little complex on Logan Road, Greenslopes, combined with RocknRoll fruitbowl and butcher. It has changed hands (or at least changed names a few times recently) but the quality is still consistant. Very nice artisan breads, but they also sell decent homemade pies, yummy sausage rolls and spinach and feta rolls. They have amazing pasteries, pasties, slices, filled donuts, croissants, almond croissants, gourmet cupcakes, muffins, turnovers etc. They have readily made gourmet cakes to take home for guests, or you can order them if you want something specific. Staff are on the ball. They also do coffee, but I don’t go there for that. Plenty of street parking, or a short walk if you live in the area. Open all weekend but they are busy so if there’s something you like, get in early!
The best dark rye bread I’ve ever had. You need to call the day ahead if you’d like to purchase more than 3 loaves. Not many vegan options but I’m all about the rye.
Have enjoyed this place for the past ten years and the quality keeps me coming back. One of the better Southside bakeries in Brisbane. Their bread selection is very European with hearty, flavourful selections of loaves, cobs, panes etc. Perfect for toasties, gourmet sandwiches and platters. They must do some of the best meat pies in Brizvegas as well with an amazing gravy, mince, chunky steak combo. Lovely croissants too! Haven’t tried many of the sweeties but their presentation reflects the work of a skilled ptissier. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. It’s always busy and attached to a decent butcher, grocer/deli. An all-in-one venue for the gastronome!
Use to go here often mainly for the donut but the past four times I’ve been the donut have been stale. I’ve also bought stale brownies recently. Bringing shame to the rock n roll market place
I came here early Sunday morning (8am) bought 6 scones, donuts and and an almond croissant. Everything apart from the croissant was stale which is disappointing for a Sunday morning.
Diana. WOW this place sure rocks ! (used to be the old Rock n Roll fruit bowl so that’s maybe why !) The coffee here is Merlo & is made really well with a good coffee hit & smooth creamy flavor. Merlo is not a great favorite of mine, but this is an exception. Not only that, the French style pastries here are amazing too. Those Almond croissants just blew me away, well baked & delectable, as are all the sweet delights on offer here. The citron tarts are the next on my hit list. Top marks here for the baker & the barista
Still the best bread in Qld. Excellent bread. In fact no bread is better. Since the change of owner though the donuts, which used to be the best in Qld also, are nowhere near as good. But try the bread, no other bread in the state comes remotely close.
