  Had a great meal, staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely ambience, wide variety to choosr from. Loved that the kids meal was freshly made not processed frozen stuff you get at other places, thanks again to the chef and staff for a great night

  Beautiful yet basic.  Kingston House gives a stunning first impression. It is a classic, beautiful old home with immense charm and tastefully decorated. I must say that the initial impression was such it set a high expectation and, sadly, the expectations did not get delivered. Given Gympie’s warm weather, the outside seating is most pleasant. However, the food and service really let it down. I arrived 15 minutes before the other guests and I was seated in an inviting waiting area lounge. I was just ignored, No drinks offered. There was a large table of women on the night we were there but still many tables left empty as it was mid-week. The wait for our meals was extraordinary and there was no apology or updates. The menu is good but I found the meals to be decidedly ordinary. If you have all the time in the world and you have expectations of an home-cooked meal with not a lot of flair, then the ambiance will make it a great experience. However, I left with a feeling I had been let down.

  Great value lunch deal. Fantastic food, beautiful ambiance and impeccable service. Will be back when next in town!

  Average food, above average price. Service was ok, but the staff seemed very keen to give pepper to everyone who looked their way. Was half expecting pepper to be served with dessert. $115 for two people with 2 courses (ex drinks) seemed high for gympie
