Gino’s is a great family restaurant. I always like the food here and so do the kids. Great friendly service and good price range. The ambience is very relaxed

We had a voucher deal for Gino’s & with that we thought we scored pretty well. The food is home style Italian nothing fancy about the plating & simple menu items. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which was piping hot all the way through (unlike Lady Meatball in the review below!) It was flavorsome with lots of cheesy sauce & sweet, robust tomato sauce accompanied by a small salad. I ordered chillies on the side so that gave it added zing. Loved the arancini balls, they had a crisp light crust with delicate vegetarian fillings inside. Desert was rather dry I had the tiramisu

I have often driven past Gino’s and wondered about their pizza. They’ve been in business for 36 years, so I figured they must be doing something right.I went to Gino’s intending to order a couple pizzas for the family, but when I realized that the $10 specials were only for takeaway and the pizzas were $17.50 we decided to try other parts of the menu – big mistake. We paid much more and every dish was below average to average.I went with the pan fried chicken breasts and beef ravioli with bolognaise sauce ($29.50), Lady Meatball ordered the eggplant parmigiana ($24.50) and Mini Meatball ordered the crumbed chicken from the children’s menu ($10).The pan fried chicken breasts were ok (3), but the beef ravioli and bolognaise were disappointing (2). The eggplant parmigiana was served with warnings that the dish was extremely hot, supported by the fact that the sauce was sizzling. Unfortunately, the whole middle was cold – not cool, straight from the refrigerator cold. I would have sent the dish back, but my wife refused and just picked around the edges and had the rest boxed up for takeaway. Based on the bits that were hot/warm, this dish’s ceiling was a 3. Taking into account that 2/3 went uneaten and the fact that there is no way the eggplant was freshly pan fried before it was baked this rates a 1.The crumbed chicken was ok (3), but the chips weren’t great (2.5).The only saving grace was that I also ordered a $10 pepperoni and bacon pizza for takeaway. This was the highlight of the meal and rated a 3.5. The pizza bumped the overall rating up from a 2 to a 2.5.I wish we had just ordered pizzas – we would have saved a lot of money and the overall rating would have been higher.

We love this place. It’s so casual. Food is always good. Brilliant service. Pizzas are the best. Pasta is good too but I think is lacking something and needs a little oomph. I think it needs a little revamp to make it feel more authentic Italian and gain a little more street appeal. It’s nice and casual and we just can’t get past the service and value for money. It’s not fine dining but you certainly leave satisfied and full. Would recommend

Best authentic Italian restaurant in Brisbane. Located on the busy Kingsford Smith Drive, with parking available in side streets/ signed parking area for the restaurant. As soon as you close the front door you can’t hear any traffic or current roadworks. Dated tables & chairs but very comfortable to sit on (like visiting an Italian Nona’s home) .Restaurant updated since I was last here.Food great value for money & fresh. Good serves & service.Pizzas are fantastic. Takeaway also available. We had a group of 12, celebrating a birthday. One waitress for the whole restaurant was run off her feet. There were also several other tables occupied. If we asked the waitress for something, she was able to accommodate us without any problems. She even arranged sparklers for the cake & took a group photo of us all. Will be returning in the future- my favourite Italian restaurant

This is a family friendly Italian restaurant. The food is good quality and has a home cooked by nona taste about it. Yep have eaten better pizza and pasta but it was ok and was well supported by locals and travelling families. Located on a busy road with dated decor makes for a challenge to improve/add atmosphere.

Ginos restaurant Hamilton- Tonights meal. We have been going to Gino’s regularly for many years. We pretty much order the same thing everytime. Tonights meal was ridiculously small and very ordinary tasting! My daughter got four small ravioli in the kids meal ($2 per ravioli)!. I had to cook her a decent dinner when we got home. The adults full size meals were only the size of an entree. Very small. We were all hungary when we got home. When I mentioned to two different people working at the place how small our meals were, they didn’t seem to care. No one apologized or could care less. Maybe a bit too conceited Ginos! Once the work starts on Coronation Drive you might appreciate your old loyal customers – which will not include us anymore.
