Tasted how sushi should taste, perfectly seasoned rice. we had aburi prawn, aburi eel, tempura prawn, takoyaki full of octopus and the karage chicken. Was quite envious when I saw the other diners Tempura vegetable basket which was beautifully presented.
I love sushi, I just wish more places made it with brown rice. You can’t go wrong with some sashimi and dumplings on the side though! Good quality sushi.
Great place and cheap.. This place does great Sushi for cheap – only $3.50 per plate which is much better value than the other Sushi Train at Portside. The ‘double prawn’ is especially nice. Just remember to order fresh rather than off the train.
Can’t say I liked it or not because I didn’t get a chance to eat there. We arrived at 11:30am and there was only 1 person there. Once we sat down for about 2mins, the waitress wanted to take our orders. After selecting a few of our normal japanese favourites, we were informed they had no Tuna, no Scallops, no Kingfish, and no Wagyu… Sooo just salmon until after new years (after 1.5wks). So far I can’t rate it on food, because we left the restaurant, but a japanese sushi restaurant without these ingredients is like losing both legs and all fingers. I rate it 1/10 for management. 1 was for the very sincere apologies from the waitress. Chef/owner/manager were all like deadfish.
The sushi was delicious and the service was great. All of the sushi plates are $3.50. I will definitely come again!!
Free B.Y.O !!!. Very delicious and chip.
The sushi were quite fresh and delicious. There was a special of $3.50 for any plate which made it quite affordable. Close proximity to Portside is a definite plus.
