Used to frequent this restaurant before new ownership. Thought we would try the newly refurbished Verandah on Racecourse for breakfast. Staff were very welcoming & provided seating suitable for us & the pooch near the door. Coffee was made very well & presented perfectly with good strength. My order of avocado was served with a tasty relish & a generous serving of smoked salmon topped off with a poached egg (which pooch devoured fervently) The fruit toast we ordered was a little dry & lacked an abundance of fruit
Since the took over from the previous management of Vagelis Cafe & Bar, this restaurant has been trading for a while. I missed it during the period of face-lifted a few months ago so re-attempted with a friend for breakfast this morning. We arrived at 6:30am as the second table of diners in this morning. Service is alright and attentive. We both loved to order the Bo Kho to go with coffee because there is not many place offering such dish in early morning. In fact, the Bo Kho was done so good that we both nearly forgot to taste the coffee. Beef chunk was stewed perfectly tender. Sourdough is just the perfect match with the lemongrass sauce. I think I will be back to taste other Vietnamese dish at lunch time very soon.
