My lunch companion (master 4 yrs old) declared that he wanted calamawi and asked if I knew the Fishmongers Wife.I did.Plenty of street parking nearby, we arrived at around 11.45am (15 minutes before restaurant opening time).Theres a lovely clean rest room around the back so we used that, washed our hands and waited out front. The very friendly hostess greeted us warmly and invited us in. Cool, air conditioned and with simple comfortable furniture we settled into a corner table.Fantastic free activity pack was immediately provide to Master4, along with water and menus. I was asked if I needed the gluten free menu and almost fainted!!I did and theres a great range of options. The hostess actually asks every table which is just wonderful and something I e never experienced an where else.Licenced but we stuck with water.Kids meals are proper food in smaller portions. My gluten free calamari were sensational.Chips were crunchy and freshly cooked.Fresh salad (part of the meal), served on a separate plate for easy sharing. Seafood beautifully cooked and served with a smile.Fantastic!

Came here upon recommendation from a colleague and decided to try it out after watching a movie with mates. It’s definitely not your usual fish and chip shop as my friend said it’s a bit higher than that with a venue on the side to dine in restaurant style. We ordered the specials for the day including a coconut Thai fish curry with rice, dukkha crusted salmon and coriander barra. All had beautiful flavours including the curry albeit some bones and fish flakes needing to be pulled out from the curry. Food was definitely fresh and delicious, decor inside was warm and welcoming including staff members. Price wise was slightly high for the portion you received though.

I recommend their crumbed fish (Hoki) and chips! Very happy with the fish, tastes good and fresh. They have chicken salt to add on yourself…. However poor service every time I have been from the older guy and woman. Always disappointed by their service at front counter, just not very friendly. (Besides the young ones, they are much better). I’d give a much higher rating if it wasn’t for the lack of friendly counter service.

Went this Easter Monday. Dined in.Partner had the Dukkha Salmon, she said it was cooked well but seasoning maybe an acquired taste. I had the snapper with beer battered chips. Chips were great. definitely will get takeaway. Probably not on a public holiday or a weekend because of the surcharge!

FOOD = 3.5SERVICE = 3.5AMBIENCE = 3.5Visite this place in its new location. A cosy place and great staff, welcome with a smile. The fish and other seafood is great here. Fresh ingredients and good choices. Good serves as well. Good presentation. A great thing abouy this place, is that it caters well for people with food intolerances really well. A little pricey overall, but great place to enjoy a good feed.
