this is our second time at the fireplace and despite the first positive experience the last one was quite disappointing, the food was average and the service quite poor. the price they charge is way too expensive for the quality we experienced.
Recently stayed at the Intercontinental and decided to have dinner with my partner at Fireplace. I ordered the Rack of Lamb, cooked perfectly with a lovely wood fired taste, and served with a fruit chutney, jus and roast potatoes. All in all an excellent dish.My partner ordered an eye fillet, again cooked perfectly and accompanied by an interesting orange and beetroot remoulade – not my first preference in flavour, but it did work well.Restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere, and suited for a romantic dinner as well as a night out with friends.I would be happy to return here on my next stay in Sanctuary Cove.
