Great little bakery, there quality breads and treats reminds me of Melbourne thus i think I have a little crush on the place. Recommend the cronuts and especially the hot cross buns at easter time
Unfortuntaely very dissapointed. The quality has gone down and prices gone up. The croissants used to be delicous and flakey with layers but now taste like a fluffy bread. I’m not sure if there has been a change in ownership however am dissapointed.
Disappointment!. Unfortunately the food purchased has been very poor, especially for the price paid. Yesterday we purchased: coffee profiteroles – great coffee custard filling, but poor profiteroles (dry and tasteless), fruit tarts – terrible custard cream and tough pastry (not light, flakey and buttery at all), vanilla slice – over cooked and terrible pastry with a boring and tasteless vanilla custard/cream, sourdough – over cooked. At the price we paid for these items, this is a really bad experience. We will not go here again. Better off going to coles or woolworths! The food used to be much better!
Sweet chilli cheese twists are delicious!
Not so fresh. Recently bought some pastries found them to be rubbery. The prices are through the roof. I do not recommend their meat pies they were awe full. The olive loaf and bagguette was good but one again prices are very high.
Tasty Treats. I couldn’t wait. I wanted to try those desserts and pastries. Valentine’s Day – what a perfect excuse!I got the four-pastries-for-$13 deal: lemon curd tartlet; chocolate tartlet; macadamia brownie and blueberry tartlet. The pastry is definitely the best I’ve eaten locally, by far. Even better than the pie pastry at A Touch of Salt (sorry!).The light, fluffy, tangy lemon curd was delightful; the chocolate smooth, velvety and rich. Yum.Go get yourself some of this goodness!13 Feb, 2011Oh. So. Good.. I am so happy there is a bakehouse like this in Townsville. Bread is good. Bread is my thing. And this bread is awesome! Creative yummy goodness. The product is awesome – no doubt about it, but so are the owners. Friendly. Honest. Trustworthy (they let me pay for my order the next time I was in when the EFTPOS machine was down). Interested in what their customers like and prefer. Really good at what they do.I haven’t yet tried anything from the dessert cabinet, but am sure to soon. Divine looking treats just waiting to be tried. We had a meat pie today – the flavoursome golden pastry was the highlight; the filling was tasty but didn’t do it for me as I like chunks of beef in my pies, not mince. I would like to see more choices on offer though; maybe that’s to come.Next time you’re looking for something special, drop in – you won’t be disappointed!
