Booked this restaurant once I read Joe K’s review. Grabbed the chance to have Sunday lunch before my shopping at Inala shopping centre. We were lucky to find a table because it was nearly full house when we arrived. If not because of this visit, I would never know this side of Inala even though I had been around so many years. The whole shopping area is very similar like the shopping area opposite to Darra station. Well, needless the say, the order of the Braised Duck Noodle soup was the a-must and we order the Pho Dac Biet as our usual indicator of Vietnamese noodle soup. Besides that we ordered the coconut juice and soda egg with condensed milk. Honestly, the drinks were average and nothing worth to mention. However, both noodles reflected that it was worth for the trip, they were rustic and showed the authenticity of Vietnamese style. Duck leg was tendered with very strongflavour of herb from cayenne & star anise and so as the soup base. I could not deny that it was the best of the same kind in town. I loved the strong flavour of soup base when I tasted the Pho Dac Biet. Ingredients were generous but noodle was not as smooth as those that I had at My Tho @ Calamvale Central.

  • Bun Bo Hue

This comment is purely on their Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Hue Noodle Soup). This bowl, may look authentic, with its red spicy soup, its rice ‘spaghetti’ noodle, fatty pork & beef slices, pork loaf,… and even a pork trotter, that’s where its authenticity ends. The broth was so sugary sweet, it was on par with the Thai dessert. There was little hint of garlic or chilli, and in fact, the only thing that had ‘flavour’ was the added fresh veges and herbs on the side. For a ‘local Inala’ restaurant, I was very disappointed, even if it was only $11 for the bowl.

It’s been nine months since my last review. Kim Son is a restaurant from the 1990’s and nothing much has changed. It is clean, the service fast and the food is cheap and delicious. Walking in at 12.45pm the restaurant is two thirds full with the lunchtime crowd. We place our orders and sip on the complimentary tea. Phuong Tran’s Combination Egg Noodle Soup ($11.00) arrives and she is happy with the broth, chewy egg noodles, sliced pork, cubed pork crackling, prawns and squid. Rating: 4.0/5.0My Braised Duck Egg Noodle Soup ($13.50)is served steaming hot. The herbal soup has a thicker consistency than normal and is rich in flavour. The 1/8 braised duck is tender and the egg noodles are chewy, Perfect! Rating: 4.0/5.0The Vietnamese 3 Colour Dessert ($3.50) is disappointingly small, less than half the size of what we get at Tan Thanh up the road. I still enjoy this dessert after a hot meal. Menu prices have not increased in years but the size of some meals are now smaller.

Went here for lunch. Hu tieu was okay, pho had the taste of MSG. crispy fired noodle had way too much oil on it, would not recommend this dish

Amazing food that beats all vietnamese restaurants in brisbane. TRY THEIR SATE CHILLI with soy sauce for dipping sauce. It’ super spicy and gets you sweating.

Best pho in Brisbane. Authentic, delicious and well priced. Parking can be a challenge sometimes, but it’s worth it for the amazing meals. The beef pho and vermicelli salads are have been perfect every time we’ve ordered.
