Was attending a charity function upstairs and wanted to eat a light meal at dinner time. NOTHING marked on the menu as gluten free, despite the on-line menu having GF choices. They said they could make me a steak with no sauce and no chips (which I did not want) and nothing else. I ended up buying a bag of crisps. And the male server was rude about it, smirking when I asked the way to the snack machine. C’mon, as a Coeliac, I have more choice at McDonalds and its 2016 for goodness sake!

Haven’t been here in years but came along for some lunch today before a movie. It was a $15 burger special with a schooner of cider (homestead) or beer (coors). Had the CBLT which was actually really delicious. The bacon was grill charred (my favourite) as was the chicken. The bun was soft and also toasted on the grill (yum)Some of the menu looked quite pricey, which I will try on the 2-4-1 nights. Lunch was counter service and pretty relaxed.

Visited the Indooroopilly Hotel last night just to suss out their Parmigiana menu. We ordered the classic Parmigiana (topped with Neapolitan sauce, ham and cheese) which was $22 and the King Avocado Parmigiana which was $24. Both meals came with a side of fries and salad but sadly I wouldn’t visit again purely based on the prices – meals weren’t overly big and there was really nothing special about the Parmigiana itself.

I was craving a steak so we decided to head to the local pub for a pub feed. There weren’t too many other diners but the place was clean and the staff attentive. The menu was fairly expensive $20-$30 for mains so we had two rump steaks with option of veg and mash or chips and salad. Also had the salmon. Our food arrived quickly but overall lacked flavour and freshness. They do plenty of specials and deals but at this stage I won’t be back. thebasicbalance.com

Decided to come here for a sneaky lunch time burger, should have gone elsewhere. Tried the hot mess which only half lived up to it’s name. There was no heat, with only 4 jalapeno slices in the burger. The bun was okay, but the meat pattie had a sausage like, processed texture. The fries were good, but the serving was paltry. For near on 20 bucks there is no value here.

Paid approx $29 for a rib fillet that smelt and tasted rotten (after the wild storms, I presume they lost power & refrigeration) needless to say it was inedible! Others also had fish that smelt and tasted like the floor of a trawler, another $20 not eaten! Don’t eat here unless you want to get sick!!!

Good food, horrible service.. Drinks order does not arrive. Waitress does not bring dessert menu. Waitress unable to take correct order. Manager says bad luck
