A lot of choices in the bakery section, so a bit hard to make a decision. Chose a piece of lemon butter cake; it wasn’t too sweet but the cake texture was not as soft as I thought it should be. It was dry and rough; not sure if it was because of the recipe or the cake was old and stale. Keen to try other products though.

The rice paper rolls ($3ea) are a super reliable cheap lunch. Hoisin sauce is excellent and I like the variety of fillings they have (I’ve tried the spicy chicken, teriyaki tofu and mushroom, caramelised onion and omelette). The bakery section also looks great, especially the cute little cakes that are super reasonably priced (there’s a lot

Rice, Paper, Scissors has moved 15 metres to a new location. In addition to Vietnamese fare, a Bakery is added to the business. My last Banh Mi Thit at Rice Paper is best forgotten. Today I ask for The Belly Bun (Roast Pork Belly Banh Mi) costing $7.90. I am handed a hot baguette from under the grill with a generous serve of sliced Pork Belly and minced chilli. Great! The Pork Crackling is soft not crisp and there is excessive pickled carrot. Overall, this BMT is still good, unlike the great BMTs we get at Darra and Inala.

Update,Wanting to try their banh mi, we drop by again and ordered the classic with chilli and porky with a side of viet iced coffee. Not to long after ordering, were given 2 hot toasted banh mi, and after first bite wa snot disaapointed. Crunchy bread roll with pate, aioli and decent amount of filling. Much more than rolld last week.Viet coffee hit the spot also._______________________________________Having been to their other venue which was out front, this is a much bigger and more options to choose from. They are now much a bakery with vietnamese street food. But every time we visit wife always has to order the roast pork slider, they usually run out if roast pork. The store is modern and nice fit out, the left side is the walk in bakery with your usual pies, breads, sausage rolls, sweet treats and cakes. So many options and can add street food to the order. Front counter has their daily rice paper rolls, salads, drinks, and now sandwiches and wraps. So still early in the morning before Easter egg hunt, ordered the roast pork slider and a creamy chicken pie. Given a ticket number and waited for the order. After about 10 mins, order was received and it did not disappoint. Wife’s slider, was fluffy, light and with a hint of hoi sin went down a treat. My pie was good, pastry was on point, didn’t break apart while eating and was at edible temp. Wasn’t too hot, but might need some more chicken. Was good start before the hunt, kids had avo sushi.

Bought a $45 red velvet cake from here – appearance wise it was very pretty. However upon eating the cake we discovered that it was not very soft and tasted stale. The worst part was that the bottom and sides of the cake were very burnt and unbearably bitter. We had to remove those parts to be able to eat it. The icing was also too sweet. Considering the price, the quality of the cake was severely disappointing. On the other hand, their rice paper rolls were pretty good. The service was average, the servers were nice enough but not particularly friendly.
