Good service. Friendly staff. Food was well balanced in flavor. Naan was very good. Not the best Indian food I have eaten in Brisbane but worth stopping at if you find yourself in the CBD.
Fantastic food and a beautiful venue to eat it in – it doesn’t get much better than that! I was pleasantly surprised when I first set foot inside the restaurant and saw how beautifully presented everything was, I had high hopes that the food would live up to the setting – and it certainly did. All of our curries were delicious and tasted exactly as they should, and the selection of entrees was also great. One of the reviews on here didn’t regard the Vindaloo very highly so I was nervous about ordering it – it turned out to be just as tasty as the rest of the dishes we ordered so I can definitely recommend ordering it (obviously don’t ask for it mild though). Portions here are good and the naan is lovely – very fresh and soft, and fantastic mango lassies too. The only thing I wasn’t overly impressed with was the slow service, but we did dine here on a Sunday so I just assume that they didn’t have many staff working…Other than that I look forward to coming back here, hopefully on a regular basis.
Indian Mehfil has been a family favorite for many many years. Last night we had dinner from here again and it was no exception to the high quality we’ve come to expect from them.Dining in is a great experience, booking is always a good idea but despite their usual busy evenings they never seem to have any trouble finding us a place.Takeaway is always good from Mehfil as well, orders never take more than 15 or 20 minutes from placement. The heat level is always accurate, if you ask from medium, you get medium, same for hot or mild, which is good as a lot of indian restaurants don’t appear to take a measured approach to heat. After years of eating here I can’t say I have had a single bad meal. This is the only place I know of that has Palak Paneer on the menu, which I wholly reccomend. I am a happy meat eater, but coming in to Mehfil I find it hard not to order it every time. Night’s where there is a full house service may be a touch slower, but you can’t fault a place for that, especially when they still run the room like clockwork. The bar is well stocked and the variety of items for each spirit or alcohol choice is impressive, especially for a rum drinker tired of Bundaberg. Generally you can eat here for around $25 per person which I think is pretty reasonable for a nice night out. A great place to eat out in Ipswich and we’ll be back soon to eat here again.
