Been going here for years and never had a bad meal from the site. Always gotten the shandy special from here. Waiting time from ordering is 10 – 15 minutes. Excellent service and always greeted with a smile. Recommend eating here

Decided on take-away for dinner one Friday night and thought the menu looked good here. We got the Mongolian beef, combination omelette, and just some spring rolls. Generous servings and decently priced. Except our omelette was leathery and tasted like it had been cooked hours ago. Unfortunately that let down the whole meal.

Having lived in the Western burbs for many years now, we were very frequent diners at Stir Fry Cafe in our early years. The food was always superb and Tony (old chef) did just about the best laksa I’d ever eaten. However it changed hands quite a few years ago now and as the prices rose, and we found the food just to be not as good as it had been, we stopped going. On Saturday night we had headed to another fave restaurant, only to find it had suddenly closed down on us, so we thought we’d give Stir Fry another go after at least a five year absence. It looked promising – very heavily patronised and the smells coming out the kitchen were really good. So we nabbed the last table outside and did a quick menu check. Our waiter was with us in good time and water arrived soon after we requested it. For food we went with the honey chicken, whitebait omlette and a plate of our favourite salty fish rice (do try this as an alternative to fried rice if you fancy a change). All the plates were on the table in good time but unfortunately we were a little disappointed. The salty fish rice was a little bland – and we eat this a lot, at just about every asian restauant we frequent these days – so that was a disappointment. So too was the whitebait omlette – again just lacking in flavour – we should have gotten some soy sauce to flavour it up a bit I suppose (I really miss there being soy sauce on every table). The honey chicken had great flavour, but there was very little chicken and whole lot of batter around it. I was so hoping it was going to be wonderful and get put back on our regular restaurant list, but unfortunately it was just all a bit of a letdown to us. However as I said, it was heavily patronised so I don’t think they will miss us too much. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong dishes. Worth a try.

Awesome authentic stir fries, with a heart-felt smile on the face. been increasing the price over the years , but still being one of the cheapest in town

We ordered takeout from here last night. From the initial phone call to place our order, we received quality service. Our order was ready when we arrived, which was the 20 minutes we were told it would be.Our food was amazing and certainly the best chinese food we have ever had in Brisbane. My husband, who is Canadian, has not liked any of the Chinese food he has eaten in Australia since moving here five years ago, but he has given the food from here huge accolades. The Restaurant part of this establishment was extremely busy, which shows you the quality of their food. For quality, quantity, price and Customer Service the Stir Fry Cafe is highly recommended by us.

Take away food great as usual but tonight I was tempted to leave it on the counter and walk out. We ordered it by phone. I picked it up, waiting patiently for service, young woman gave me the order and as I handed over my card she answered the phone and spent 5 minutes taking a complex order. No eye contact, no smile, no excuse me. If she had put the order on hold I would have paid and been out that door on 20 seconds. Learn some respect and some manners please!

This place is truly worthy of the glowing reviews it has. I am so, SO happy I decided to check Stir Fry Cafe out – it only took me five years since I live right down the road – but better now than never! Stir Fry Cafe is very unassuming in appearance but the food is absolutely fantastic – very fresh, and the portions are huge. It is not the cheapest Chinese place – but the price is a reflection of the quality of food. This isn’t some greasy, msg ridden suburban Chinese – the food here is superb and I will be recommending Stir Fry Cafe to everyone I know. We ordered the prawn laksa soup, hokkien noodles with king prawn and fish with ginger and shallots – all of which were fantastic, I could not pick a favorite dish. I was impressed with the generous amount of prawns that came with each dish – they do not skimp out! Looking forward to eating here again soon.
