Someone please tell the owner that Szechuan is not just sweet and sour sauce with added chilli. Hi everyone how are you today? This review on stir fry cafe is a repeat of the previous, however, Ive reduced to one star after thinking about it. Cheers.

My favourite Chinese food in the area. Combination noodle is very authentic and tasty. Fillet steak in mandarin sauce, soft shell crab and salty fish and chicken fried rice are our all time favourites. The only downside of this place is that its dated.

It has been 8 months since my last review rated this restaurant 4.5/5.0! Time for an update, so today with friends and relatives we take a 3 minute drive to Stir Fry Cafe. Arriving at 12.30pm we seat ourselves and I briefly scan the familiar menu and place our lunch order. Sipping on hot Chinese tea it takes John the owner/chef only 10 minutes to prepare our first dish.1. Combination Seafood & Fish Bladder Soup. The soup is tasty and the diced fish, prawns, squid and scallops are fresh. 2. Steamed Oysters with Ginger & Shallot. Best steamed oysters I have eaten in 2017. Humongous Pacific oysters steamed just right and garnished with ginger and shallot. 3. Fried Tofu with Fish Mince served with lettuce and gravy. The freshly fried tofu is a big serve and has been a family favourite for many years. 4. Deep Fried Pork with Peking Sauce is their signature dish and in my opinion, the best in Brisbane. The pork pieces are perfectly fried then tossed through a delicious Peking sauce. 5. Chiuchow Soy Duck is braised in a soy-based sauce. My guests enjoyed this dish to the last piece. For me, the duck was overcooked and the sauce too salty. 6. Deep Fried Long Beans stir fried with chicken mince is another popular dish. A generous serve and the cooked beans are still a little crunchy. The seasoning and the chicken mince complement the beans perfectly. My guests are surprised by the quality of the Cantonese cuisine and a couple say it’s their best Chinese meal in 2017. My family have been dining at the family-run Stir Fry for over a decade and it’s our Cantonese gem close to home. I reaffirm my rating of 4.5/5.0! Thank you Chef John!
