Bookmarked this place after I read Dianas review. Without reading her review, I would not know this cafe even though I drove past so many times in the past. Being tucked away in the St Vincent Private Hospital, I admitted that it was very easy to miss it. Dropped in to explore in this morning and it was not that busy in a rainy day. Ordered a ham, cheese & tomato toast and a flat white. Service was average and so was the food. However, the coffee gained marks back. Nice cup with special taste of coffee and in-depth strength. This is a nice place to have a quiet time for coffee.
I have been meaning to try this coffee shop/cafe for quite sometime as it is almost on my doorstep. I managed to get there the other day for a coffee, I have to admit I was rather dubious after reading the reviews on here , but always like to give places the benefit of the doubt. In this case I was pleasantly surprised I ordered a flat white hot & strong & that is what I received without a hint of bitterness. The flavor was very different to what I have had before, but it was quite passable
Overpriced and as the other review states, the only reason why people go there is because there are no other places around. The quality of the food lacks compared to the price. The staff were quite lovely though.
This place has a monopoly at St Vincent’s Hospital and it is probably the only reason people keep coming back. None of the cakes are fresh. They are all purchased in and taste sweet, bland and generally factory produced. I’ve had many coffees here and they are often tepid and sometimes the staff try to serve them in take-away cups even if you dine in. The care factor here is pretty low which is unfortunate.
