When camping we visited this place for bread or pie. Quite tasty. My boyfriend loved their pie. I tried their breakfast slider. I think it would be better when hot.
I’d heard about this place and was very keen to stop in and try their amazing looking donuts. The line was crazy! It was out the door and doubled back inside! For the size of the line, it moved fairly quickly, so I was happy to wait, and the donuts on display also kept me there! I chose a peanut butter and Nutella donut and a sausage roll (to share! Not all for me!) They had unfortunately sold out of the vanilla slices which was a shame because the ones leaving the store looked amazing. The sausage roll was excellent. Really tasty pastry, good inside too – not processed like the usual sausage rolls. The donut was also amazing. The flavour combo was delicious, a little sickly by the end but that’s to be expected for a filled donut that size! A stellar bakery, definitely worth the drive and the line – I would highly recommend.
Been going to Kenilworth Bakery for a few years now for great pies, eaten across the road in the park.We were dumbstruck today at the new ‘reinvention’ of the bakery. It’s a Donut shop that sells a few pies from a small warmer. The donuts are mediocre, with a dozen different toppings, and take up most of the shop.A railing has been installed for the lineup, and the whole place has lost its ‘Country Bakery’ charm, instead feeling like a Krispy Creme counter in a service station.Won’t be heading back again for a while. What a shame.
Went camping on the Easter weekend and went into the small town of Kenilworth to avoid the rain. This bakery was packed with line ups. They feature their 1kg donut for $20 and if you finish it you get your money back. We opted for just a warm cuppa and donuts but watched other people do it. It was quite disturbing cause one of the staff who times how fast someone can eat that donut kept talking about people spewing and put buckets around the table. The odor from the tables were pretty bad as well. That was an awful experience. But the donut and coffee isn’t too bad itself. Worth a quick stop when passing by the town. I’d advise to takeaway though.
Amazing food and service. We found this gem when we were camping and would make the drive in every day for some fresh Bread and usually end up grabbing some pies or sweet pastries as well. It all looks so amazing. . Nothing beats home made fresh bread. The owner is lovely and happy to sit and have a chat.
