Always enjoyed the food at West End Sitar & we were disappointed when they decided to close their doors quite s few years ago now. When we were on a recent trip to Kenmore we noticed this one & became quite excited. Have never forgotten their signature dish of onion bahjis, huge mouth watering chaotic balls of sheer delight. Actually the best we have ever had-so here is hoping they live up to the old days!
Just like Fawlty Towers!. Waited 15 mins to be offered a drink. Starters didn’t arrive until after we had finished the mains. Mains arrived but the rice had not been heated (bowls and contents were fridge cold). Naan was tough and cold. It was like one of those restaurant shows where everything is bad and a celebrity comes in to sort it out. It was so bad it was almost funny, except it was overpriced rubbish and I had to pay the bill. I will never go back and really begrudge the fact I had to smile rather than be cranky so not to offend the poor staff, who whilst very polite obviously had little or no restaurant experience. Better restaurants in the area have gone under. This place deserves to go bust as it is so ordinary!!
Picked up takeaway and realised when we got home the curry containers were half full. The butter chicken tasted good but the lamb rogan josh was tough and needed to be cooked for hours longer. Pretty disappointing experience.
Excellent food and and service. We had a lovely evening meal at the Sitar in Kenmore. Wonderful food as always well done Ali!Truly excellent service that makes you feel at home and a valued customer.
Terrible experience. Ordered $100 worth of take-away, the curry containers were half full, the prawns & samosas were stone cold, and there was a complete absence of vegetables. (Was also informed upon pickup that they had no spinach and lamb, and had substituted with beef). No remorse from staff. Ceylon inn is far better quality. Half a star
Excellent food-great service!
Again another fantastic visit to the Sitar Kenmore. Absolutely first rate service and the food is mouth wateringly perfect. This is my favourite restaurant. It was my birthday today and the Sitar made it the perfect end to a wonderful day. Thank you Sitar Indian Restaurant Kenmore.01 Nov, 2013Exceptional high quality food and fantastic service that I strongly recommend everyone to visit.
