My wife and I visited Alfies for Valentine’s, and we were not disappointed! I had the duck curry and my wife had the lamb rack. The meat was cooked very well, the curry had excellent flavour and the snow peas were tender but still crunchy like they should be. I couldn’t fault the service either. Our waitress was very attentive, and visited our table twice while we were eating to check we were happy with the food. The restaurant itself was very bright and open, with great views of the ocean. A fantastic evening, and we will definitely go back again!
My partner and I had dinner here last week during our trip to Caloundra and it was a mixed experience. We had the mooo jus and baguette with herb and garlic butter for entree which was delicious, we would have happily eaten this all night! I ordered the barramundi for main which was quite possibly the best barramundi I have eaten, perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and amazing flavours. As the restaurant is well known for its steaks, my partner ordered the rump steak cooked rare for main but unfortunately had to return it as it was well over cooked. The second one arrived and was cooked as ordered but the steak was really bad, with lots of fat and gristle all the way through it (there wasn’t much meat on it at all). It also didn’t look like it had been properly sealed, maybe cooked in a rush. Definitely not worth the $40 per steak and we were amazed that the chef allowed it on the plate. Overall, we couldn’t recommend the restaurant for the steak, however, would highly recommend the fish and entree.
