Pizza Capers – Coolangatta, QLD. I can remember when Pizza Capers was somewhat special with just two locations in total not that far of a distance from each other as the crow flies; by driving it was still a fairly short distance. Now that it is everywhere, I can say more people are fortunate as this has not become too basic with its franchising; if not, the freshness and innovation has become part of the appeal and image of Pizza Capers as a whole. Couple with another form of takeout (big family gathering at the Gold Coast, had to plan for several big stomachs) five pizzas were gotten from the Tweed Heads branch. From memory there was:a Margaretha, the classic pizza which was good as always (and my favourite). It needs to introduction or explanation. New Mexico – beef, salsa, onions, peppers, jalepenos, chorizo and garlic topped with corn chips. The corn chips were served separately, a wise move in order to maintain their crunch texture. Rustic Tassie Lamb – lamb on pesto with chorizo, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, feta and olives.Mozambique Piri Piri – chicken on red peppers, onion and tomato. There was also shallots and cashews as a flourishing finish off. Supreme – ham, pepperoni, capsicum, onions, mushrooms and olives. Each one of these had their own unique flavours and ingredient dynamics, thus being able to possess a different reason for why they worked themselves. The ingredients used were great quality and showed the influences of Italian style pizza with more of modern-day Australian influences as well. There was also a garlic bread ordered, which good as well. The bread part of it was soft and obviously cooked fresh; the garlic part was not overwhelming either. It was just as good. Caper’s has managed to keep up their standards overtime and I am happy to support this franchise.
