Friendly staff as we arrived after 7pm and they still grilled our fish. However paying $62 for four pieces of fish and a large chips is TOO much. The fish was cool by the time (5 mins) we walked home. Why o why does a fish n chip shop open at 9:30. And for heavens sake why does it close at 19:00????Not impressed.

Crispy chips but that’s the only positive! Definitely the most oily fish & chips we’ve ever had and very over priced! Look else where for fish & chips!

Can’t understand the poor ratings this little gem of a fish and chip shop has had.  We’ve bought takeaways 3 times in the last 2 months and it has all been excellent (and we’re fussy people!).  Fresh fish, fresh oil, very thin batter and the crispiest chips I’ve had for years.  And the lady who served us was friendly and helpful – the other reviewers must have been very demanding or rude because she was great.  This is our number 1 choice for an after beach meal – you can take your food across the road to the beach or the beautiful park (complete with playground for the kids).  If I could give it 10 stars I would!

Overall, a dreadful experience. The food was very standard fish and chip fare, really quite oily and average. The main issue, however, is the attitude of the lady behind the counter. She made a mistake with our order, and overcharged us in the process, a not uncommon situation, usually resolved with an apology and a refund. Here, however, we were first told that we had not been overcharged, which was untrue. Then she claimed that we misordered, which was also untrue. She had made a transcription error. She then became aggressive and began to raise her voice. At this point our two children became frightened, so we ate our food and left, never to return. If you enjoy a Fawlty Towers type experience, then this may be the place for you. Personally, I don’t, and I’m a little confused as to why this lady chose a career in hospitality when she clearly hates interacting with people, especially children. The whole experience was surreal and very unpleasant.

Great barra meal. Recently had battered barra, chips and salad for dinner with friend. Highly recommend the food and service at this establishment. Could have eaten in but had takeaway and went over to the park opposite.
