This used to be the place to be, the place to eat a good meal,plenty of fun happy engaging staff, good range of food to buy, comfortable surroundings.It is NO longer.In the past year, the visits to Kunara has declined every time.The food is cautious, can only assume the chefs don’t get a opinion in how they cook/prepare meals. The furniture and appliances are of poor quality, very run down. Gosh the shreaking from the blenders alone drives a nail through the skull. The male in the garden centre at home, feet up on the counter watching people rather than working or assisting customers. Not to mention his attitude is very poor – rude without a question.The staff numbers declined significantly and it can be seen on their stressed bodies and faces. To remain on top of task appears nothing but stressful, being friendly and attentive is low on list of priorities as they struggle through their day. Workplace Health and Safety may want to pay a visit for sure.The marketplace is no different. The staff fail to acknowledge your presence majority of the time, no more friendly greetings, just doing what they can in the time they have – don’t worry about the customers.I rarely write reviews and it’s sad to write this one. Kunara had a monopoly, it was the place.Wouldn’t recommend to any family, friends nor the vast charities I’m involved with. Not until staff numbers vastly (or budget for labour/hours – however they do the budget) increase, allow creativity, all the basics for healthy happy employees. Then maybe, just maybe, it will be great again – I won’t hold my breathe.
Awesome place! I was so impressed by this cafe and the huge marketplace next door. The food looked beautiful and was fresh and delicious. Friendly staff. The sweet foods in one cabinet and savoury foods in the other are beautifully presented and cleary marked for dietary requirements (gf/vegan etc). I had a delish pumpkin roll and a really yummy coffee on Bonsoy. I will be back to try a muffin!
I have spent thousands of dollars there. I used to have lunch, go to the nursery and spend lots of money on their produce. After 3 years, it has changed so much. Not the nice warm atmosphere it used to be- I took my mum there for breakfast. Before I went to order I helped a customer stop her dogs from barking frantically and causing a disturbance. I was 1 MINUTE passed breakfast. The chef said emphatic no to my order. So I ordered something from lunch menu – was told she would not cook anything until 11.30. Told them I was good customer blah blah. Walked out vowing never to go back. I would have spent $200 there that day so they have lost someone valuable. I dont write bad reviews but this morning I decided to let them know how unhappy I was – politely – they havent even bothered to answer me. I feel ripped off and upset that such a supposedly ethical business treats their customers like crap. On top of that, the food is not as good and it’s exactly the same as it was 3 years ago. They ad something at times but the menu is stale and never changes. Lazy, money hungry and couldnt give a stuff about their VERY GOOD customers.
