As soon as you walk in the door here you are greeted & made to feel welcome. I noticed a rather large nutella muffin in the cabinet to have with my flat white. The muffin had a homemade texture & was topped with a strawberry & chocolate topping. Flat white was rich & strong with no bitterness

Upon entering we were sooo hopeful for a great experience and liked the look of your cafe plus saw you had great reviews on your Facebook. We chose to change things up by not going to our regular Monday morning breaky joint and wanted to try frigg. We ordered açai, avo smash with bacon and decaf latte with hazelnut plus a soy cappuccino with honey. We also asked if we could get some table water. Also ourselves and a table of two were the only ones in the whole cafe.5 minutes later we got our coffees in takeaway cups when we were eating in. It might seem like something small but it was lacking in attention to detail. The latte did not have hazelnut, which we had to ask for again and after drinking half of my soy cap I realised it wasn’t soy, not having full cream milk since I was a child due to an intolerance to dairy. Our breakfast arrived and the girl said “here’s your uuuummmm um um” I then said avo smash with bacon and she then laughed and gave me my breakfast. The avo smash had a small amount of fetta which I was aware of how much dairy was on my plate. Upon ordering açai bowl we were asked if we wanted honey which we answered yes and again when meal arrived was asked the same question, again lacking in service and detail. We finally got some table water after asking again. After asking if my coffee was soy, 2 staff members including the girl who took our order said it was dairy and there was a mistake with there order machine and gave us $4.50 refund even though I told them how I would be on the toilet now sick for most of the day, plus wake up tomorrow with swollen eyes. I would of preferred vegemite on toast at home instead of spending $50 on a breakfast to walk away feeling unwell. It was looked at as nothing and the staff seemed to be fumbling and not sure what to do. The waitress said she would be speaking to “Darren” which we assumed was the manager, we walked away disappointed and an in shock of the uncomfortable, tiresome experience.

Sisters Maria Elita and Toula Scott have combined their skills and love of food and people to open Frigg Café, Toula leaving corporate life so they could embark on their first hospitality venture in Labrador.“Both Maria and I have had bariatric surgery,” Toula tells us. “After surgery you physically can’t overeat, but your taste buds are happier. So we offer two menus – a normal menu and a ‘petite’ menu with smaller servings of main course dishes as a WLS (weight loss surgery) option.”Toula goes on to tell us about the café’s logo: “Because we both love people, we want the café to be a communication hub. We want people to walk in and feel at home here. We love meeting locals and having a chat. We also hold special events and dinners, and have a bariatric night once a month.”
