Invited in as you are enthralled by the beautiful views, classic clouds, superb skies and boat bonanza, The Waterline is fairly assured of good business whatever the weather, or menu, one could argue. As the rain hammered down, what could get one cosier than a hot caramel latte? It could have been hotter, granted, but other than that this is a faultless display in coffee excellence. Coffee kick shares a moment with sassy frothiness and supreme smoothness, while the major plus point is the drink goes easy on the caramel but not under easy. Really well done – and at $5.45 for a large one, solid value. To the Banana bread, and a slightly toasty outside is met by a soft, memorable inside with a lovely texture, blending banana with walnuts effortlessly. It’s not overly sweet, and a bit of butter smooths things off tastefully. 23/04/17Super stunning wow – the waterline definitely sets a high watermark to follow where quality is concerned. We are in Rocky, after all, and in true cow country fashion, you’d expect the specially breed, banana station steak to ‘holy cow wow’ you for every dollar its worth. And so it does – wallop! This steak sandwich is an absolute stonker. Once you lose the out of place onions which just wet the thing silly, you have world class hero steak, lovely avocado and stunning seeded bread – there’s even some smoked cheddar thrown in, as small and unmelted as it is.Its hard to document anything sampled here as less than excellent – the carrot cake is lovingly luscious and one of the best I’ve tasted in Australia, the chocolate milkshake is a lesson in chocolate love and the mocha is silky delicious.Service is very prompt and thorough, in a classy waterside setting with mountains and yachts in full view. I’ve been before, I’ve gone again and I will be back for more. Yah, baby!
Great Brekky. Eggs Waterline(Benedict) was fantastic and Scrambled eggs (w manchego cheese) was even better.
