We chose to celebrate my mother’s 70th at Glass because it came highly recommended, but we will not be coming back.Regardless of what came before (some good and some average meals), this incident is why 1 star is too many for this restaurant:One of the people in our party ordered the cheese platter for dessert, specifically because she knew and loved the Brillat Savarin – a French triple cream brie – one of the cheeses on the platter. When it arrived, the ‘brie’ was definitely not as described. It resembled a cheap, semi-soft supermarket Brie. When this was queried, the manager brought out the full Brillat Savarin to prove that they did have that cheese in the kitchen and it was in fact the cheese on the platter. However on comparison, the Brillat Savarin was a good quarter inch taller, whiter in colour, and perfectly ripe and gooey. Despite cutting a slice and our friend performing a taste-test which further confirmed that the cheese on the manager’s plate and the cheese on the platter WERE NOT THE SAME CHEESE, the manager refused to acknowledge what was perfectly obvious to the 10 of us there…that someone in the kitchen was trying to pass off a cheap brie on an unsuspecting diner. The manager did not back down, and as a further insult, when the bill arrived the cheese was still on it until we insisted that nobody would be paying for it.

Excellent and prompt customer service. Thai nahm jim oysters, Thai style press pork, grilled calamari, and grilled garlic prawns were simply delicious! I would love to visit this restaurant when I’m back in Gold Coast.
