I had high expectations for this place but it was sadly a disappointing experience. Not only was it like a sauna inside, but the meals were below average. Out of the 4 people dining at the table, only one enjoyed their meal. This place could have amazing potential if they took more care in their dishes.
This surf club seems just a little bit brighter, quicker, and more friendly than the others. Food overall was pretty good, especially the duck spring rolls, calamari and steaks. If I lived here it would definitely be my local.
Exacly what one would expect from a Surf Club. On recommendation at the door we spent the $10 to become members. That was saved on the $15 (26 for non members) steak. The steak was way better and larger than i expecteed. well cooked with chips and a simple salad. Others at the table enjoyed a crumbed hoki special and flathead with chips. everyone at the table was full and not much to complain about. Service was polite, friendly and fast. The $5 members pintts of beer was a real bonus. I will be back every time when in the main beach area. If your looking for good quality food and drinks without thed fuss then this is the place for you. Only complaint may be the aircond could be better.
Great location with beautiful views of the ocean.Typical surf club bistro with a great variety of meals on offer. We had the duck and plum spring rolls to start, these were fabulous. A generous serve of 5, with an Asian salad on the side. Beautiful. For mains we had garlic prawns – another generous serve in a creamy garlic sauce. Not heavy on the garlic and more than I could manage. He had the gnocchi with sun dried tomato and pumpkin sauce and caramilsed onion. Another generous serve and an enjoyable dish.
We have been coming here on and off over the past few years for either lunch or dinner and our meals have always been great. Hubby is a bit difficult having Coeliac Disease but there are a few GF options available that we haven’t had issues with – and the GF chocolate mud cake is to die for. Staff are always friendly and helpful and to top it off, you get a great ocean view out the huge sliding windows.
