Poached eggs overcooked. Bacon burnt. Coffee very weakly made. Toast and poached eggs cold. Overpriced given its very average. One of the waitresses was very gloomy. Wouldn’t go back.
Quite often I’ll go to cafes with a rating below 3.5 because the menu looks good. I’ll go because I think maybe those who have reviewed have been harsh. However, this cafe is very deserving of their 3.4 rating and I would say that rating is generous as I’m only giving a 2.5. One of the most bland meals I’ve had on the coast. Plus my portion size for $20 was tiny in comparison to what you’ll get at other cafes nearby. Both of our meals were in dire need of sauce or chutney and seasoning! It’s shocking how many chefs must not even try their dishes because surely if they did they would realise something like the omelet could use some actual flavour. Do us all a favour Spendelove – try your dishes for yourself and improve!
