Although this place is a pub the antiques make it feel more homely. We had the garlic chicken with mash and verges and the lamb cutlets with mash and vege. I live home style cooking so I enjoyed it. Took about 30 minutes to service. Reasonably priced. I have been here a few times and enjoyed the meat and vege dishes.
We dropped in for an early lunch one Sunday afternoon and were probably the first people to order lunch as we waited for the kitchen to switch over from breakfast to lunch (it was about 11.45am we have a toddler so he dictates our eating times!) The menu is a typical Irish pub food we chose a seafood basket and a chicken schnitzel. Pretty good value which is always a bonus. For drinks we had a Kilkenny and soda water. I always find it quite annoying when bars and pubs charge almost as much for soda water as they do for a beer or wine. Our meals came out quite quickly and my husband enjoyed his seafood basket. I, on the other hand, struggled to cut through my severely overcooked schnitzel which came with no sauce (and no offering of condiments). It was SO tough in some places I couldnt get my knife through. It was way over done and really, really disappointing. Its not a hard dish to make but they definitely dropped the ball on this one. I wouldnt hurry back disappointed. lifelovetravelfood.wordpress.com
