I love this traditional French place at the top of Montville/Flaxton. Thierry, the host, has a booming voice in the service area, but the food is to die for. Escargot, an amazing smoked roulade of lamb belly (just about the BEST thing I have ever eaten) and a perfect creme brûlée to finish.I would recommend this place to anyone in a heart beat!

So far my favourite French restaurant in Australia! As a French woman, I can tell that I feel like at home when I go to this special place! The French owner is just lovely and makes you feel welcome, the food is delicious and so traditional, the decor is the same than in our country French restaurants and that is so special! We have been there twice and will be back for sure! Busy on the Sunday so may need to book a table.

Pricey for what you get at least the pork wasn’t dry but underwhelmed. Staff were very helpful and had beautiful wines. The pork can with steamed potato and steam veg to share – not very exciting.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration at Le Relais Bressan. This place very much reminds me of some of the great eating places I went to while in France. It is authentic. The owners are very friendly providing exceptional service. The food is sensational with lots of classic French dishes. The sauces are just divine. All of this in a beautiful setting looking across the valleys makes this a charming place to dine at.If you are visiting during the day don’t forget Cocorico which is right next door. All the chocolates are handmade by the talented Sebastien Clerc. The raspberry and the lavender will blow your mind away. And the hot chocolates are the best I have ever had.

Unfortunately this was a bit of a miss for us – very dated setting, with no view despite the gorgeous surrounds. Some of the wait staff were a little intrusive, which didn’t add to the overall vibe. The $35 set lunch menu was good value, but the dishes were stogy and mediocre at best. On the plus side, genuine 1980’s drink prices, and great $2 entertainment packs to keep the kids occupied!
