Disappointed in my lukewarm chocolate. Barely worth calling it a hot chocolate, it was not very hot at all. I had the chilli hot chocolate, and there was chocolate on the end of a stick, like a lollipop, and you pour the tepid milk into the glass and stir the chocolate stick. It doesn’t melt very quickly because the milk is not very hot. I ended up eating the rest of the chocolate off the stick as it hadn’t melted. The chocolate itself was very nice and smooth. If you order a hot drink here, definitely ask for it to be ‘extra hot.’ Unfortunately I didn’t ask this time.
Liquid Gold in Mareeba. I was told that the coffee here is one of the best in the area and was definitely a must try. After tasting the mocha, I knew exactly why they had said that! I ordered the Eggs Benedict and was surprised that the eggs werent poached when they came out but boy was I surprised when I dug in because the eggs were still runny and they tasted amazing! An interesting take on a traditional eggs benedict but a great one!

Coffe :). A great place to take the family for a visit, there is a little bus you can ride around the plantation on and the chocolate is excellent! there are free samples of coffee, teas and chocolate
Chocolate to die for. Amazing chocolates made on site, plus free samples -there really is a heaven and it can be found here!
Lolly oasis in the Tablelands. It’s a long, stultifying drive when you’re cruising through the Atherton Tablelands, where the termite mounds outnumber humans 100-to-1. So I was surprised and chuffed to trip across The Coffee Works in Mareeba. For a smallish country town, this is a big operation — chocolate factory, coffee roastery and liqueur manufacturer. Spiffy clean, inviting interior, attractive use of plants on the grounds, and the shops had so many enticing things to sell! It was an unexpected oasis of sweetness.
