Our first visit to Red Dolphin was lovely .. fat chips, but cooked well and crispy battered cod .. delicious. We’ve been back several times, each visit the chips were half cooked and the battered cod was crisp on the outside but had a thick layer of inedible floury batter mixture inside and very, very fatty. We also tried the fish breadcrumbed but it was like eating an old shoe. They do a good trade but I think only because they are positioned on the beach front and are therefore convenient. Today we threw out about 90% of our meals. A waste of $20. We won’t be going back.
I absolutely love their chips and gravy and to 11 bucks it’s actually a pretty good amount of food. I’d recommend not going when it’s too busy cause they are a little shop and will have to wait about 20 mins if getting a decent size meal but I’m not gonna harp on them for that. Good food and staff are always friendly to me.
