Omg! If you haven’t been GO! Directly across from the beach on the Hedges stretch where you can people watch, eat and go for a beach walk. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere unpretentious. The owners experienced, dedicated and Rosie is always smiling, and Pete can tell not only about what’s on the menu but if the surfs up :)! Homemade gluten, dairy and nut free desert choices AND it’s BYO (that’s a thumbs up).. I highly recommend this cafe for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Chillax and coffee, or take away and walk the beautiful beach with coffee in hand.
Pleasant and unpretentious cafe with honest food. Coffee was smooth, cups were a decent size, next time I’d get an extra shot. My hubby and I weren’t that hungry so we shared the very clever brekkie trio. Three different toppings on seeded toast. He had the bacon, tomato and pesto, I had the avo spinach and mushroom and we split the salmon and poached egg. Very tasty – I’d have given a 5 if food had been a bit hotter. Recommended! Zomato please allow half ratings – this is a definite 4.5.

When the waitress brought our food over she was carrying 3 plate of food (there was only 2 of us) she then took no prisoners in bitching about her colleague and that she kept making mistakes. I found this highly unprofessional and made us both feel uncomfortable. She then turned her heels and stomped off leaving us with no cutlery to enjoy our food. The chef really saved the day as I couldn’t fault the food and coming from Melbourne we love a great brekky.Coffee – 2Service – 2Food- 4
I actually visited Hedges a couple of times years ago & on a recent trip to Mermaid Beach went there again. The coffee is consistantly good as is the food & what a great location too
Delicious food and very fast service. Had the muesli and coffee. Also smashed Avo on toast. The feta with pesto was a delicious addition. Love the location of cafe on hedges as well! Great atmosphere!
