Ordered a flat white with my thermos. The coffee was really strong and delicious. It was well balanced and not too acidic. I wouldn’t mind coming back again when I’m in the area.
Diana. What can I say other than one of the top drops in the vicinity of the Green Markets! Cute combi van serving creamy organic coffee with great flavour, well worth the $4 price tag, not only that you have the bonus of the river front view with groovy music thrown in!
Dropped by today for the first time and had an amazing coffee. Love the fact they have lactose-free milk too. I only see coffee being served and the amount of people willing to wait around for their coffee says a lot about their coffee. Not too strong but very fragrant. There’s also a kids corner. Very cool people operating this joint 🙂
Kombi Koffein – West End, Brisbane. What has been said about this place on here is true – there are a number of reasons why. It is well placed in scenic views (you can see the river if you angle yourself correctly) and in actual location; a fair distance from anything else, people working nearby especially Davies Park have a place to go for a break. This could only be found on the backstreets of the inner city suburbs. It is in an old 1960s Kombi van and it is decked out with everything you could possiblty want with an espresso machine. On the far opposite end of Jane Street (from Boundary) near the river and in actual quiet, it hides being difficult to find amongst garages and industrial workplaces. When you find it though, it is worth the snopping. There is even music coming from the Kombi – appropriate. I have yet to go to the West End markets, but they are apparently there on the Saturdays. What I do know now is that they are also here on the other days of the week, which shows a bit of advantageous initiative. Although it is a food truck, there are a number of stools around (which look like chess pieces) for the people who like to stay put when drinking. For me though, it was off to work. The two people here are some of the friendliest and most laid-back people you could find. They seem to be really enjoying what they are doing. When talking to them it is almost like you are talking to a contemporary. You can easily have a casual conversation with them. They do just coffee from the looks of things, so I got my double shot cappuccino to go. Often I seem very determined that a coffee must be very strong to be good, but this time around I could actually appreciate a more subtle blend. Everything that could go right for an espresso did go right, it was a lovely and well-crafted delight. This is worth a detour for the novelty of the set-up, but it is also worthy for the coffee. Much kudos and appreciation.
Great Coffee. It’s not great coffee, it’s awesome coffee, awesome service.
