Very average tonkatsu ramen with one sliver of char sui pork. Not reliable if you have a food intolerance – my partner doesnt tolerate onion or garlic and was told this wasnt an issue until he went to pick up the order and was told there was onion and garlic in the sauce. He accepted it anyway but it was also full of slices of onion. They happily refunded the money for this dish.
Really attentive service and well priced food. We ordered the saba fish set, which was really delicious. The fish was fresh and it was well plated. A place I wouldn’t mind coming back to.
Not too bad little place. Love the neat decor and environment. Not a huge dining place but it got the kick. Staff are very friendly and the food is good. Their teriyaki beef is flavorful, not over seasoning like so many others i have tried. Sashimi are fresh. The portion might be a little small for male.
It was a great experience dining in this restaurant. Good food n reasonable price, very friendly and efficient services offered. Will definitely come again in future.
Second time at Rikyu with family.Excellent authentic food with friendly service. Our new favourite. Cosy and delicious. We definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone. We will be coming back again soon!
My friend recommended this place to me, and I went to visit for a brief moment and made a pact to come back. Which I’m really glad I did! I had their Hire Katsu, and perfectly, it was lightly battered with bread crumbs, so it wasn’t overpowering and had traditional shaved cabbage with Japanese Mayonnaise drizzled on top of it, finished with a charcoal like BBQ sauce. Fresh and not overly oily. My friend had the Ebi Katsudon, and it was great as well. I only had left from Japan for 2 weeks and missed their food. Several Japanese restaurants are run by Chinese and Korean, however this was definitely run by a Japanese person and he seemed very humble as I spoke to the chef as well. The customer service was on point, as it should be coming from a Japanese-owned family restaurant. It was great as I was able to practice my Japanese with the waitresses. If you are craving for the real stuff, visit this restaurant! On top of that, if you don’t order entrees and other stuff, it was very affordable as well, with main meals averaging between $12-$20 with a helpful serving as well!
Authentic, fast and friendly. Proper soba! Best in this part of Brisbane by far.Recommended is the tempura soba, okonomiyaki, anything they grill and sashimi.
