Ordered the chicken saltimbocca and was blown away. Had forgotten how much I love this restaurant. Only fall down was the lack of sauce because I wanted more!!
In the grips of a recent sodium obsession, fate led me to brekkie at Salt. Safe to say: not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed, just ‘whelmed’ with the experience.Service wasn’t salty – the girls were pleasant enough and quick with water refills. The slightly elevated deck is a great vantage point to watch the busy comings & goings of the village during the short wait for our meals. My ‘mushrooms on toast’ was a punchy combo of shrooms tossed with fresh thyme & rosemary, salty fetta & braised kale on slices of sourdough. Alas it got unpleasantly oily at the bottom dammit. Husbandio enjoyed his corn fritter dish when all the parts were mixed together – runny egg yolk, smoked salmon, sour cream, salsa verde & fritter. He didn’t dig the texture of the fritters on their own but the corn flavour was definitely there. Oil was prominent here again.Coffee was disappointing. Both the macchiato & cappuccino were under extracted & too milky, making them insipid, weak & unsatisfying. An inaugural visit and given my sodium dependence & the fact I’m salty enough, could give this a skip in future.
I was really looking forward to this place based on their menu. It read really nicely but didn’t live up to expectations. We had the tasting plate – calamari was lovely, as was the porl belly although the skin wasn’t crispy so was a little chewy. The meatballs really lacked flavour and the felafels were quite bland. The roasted veges and toasted bread were lovely but all in all the platter was disappointing. Good wine list and nice service although tracking down water refills was difficult. Not an unpleasant dining experience but I wouldn’t rush back. lifelovetravelfood.wordpress.com
A really lovely option to stop by for any time of the day. Whether you have just a coffee or a meal the food and service is consistently good.
Fast, efficient, satisfying (that’s what she said). We had the tapas share menu and a bottle of not overly inflated wine, and really enjoyed all of it. I feel the place might be ruled by a over controlling Greek, but hey I ain’t complaining.
Nothing but friendly wait staff who want to make your day. 🙂 food is well priced for the servings you get. They’re takeaway deals they do are unbeatable
