Had a Groupon dinner at this Thai eatery last night. It seems to be very quiet since there are altogether two tables only. They have roughly three staff running the show including kitchen-staff but service is alright. We had the fish cake to share as the entree and added the Tom Yum Prawn, which is not bad. Mains of the Beef in Red Curry and Pork with chili & lemongrass were surprisingly good to go with the steamed rice. Overall, not a bad dining experience.
Curry is life, life is not sweet, it is at times hot, passionate, or intense. But made of melted ice cream it is not..The yellow curry was so one dimensional,Very little in the way of any flavor outside of coconut and sweetness! Massive sweetness. Melted ice cream sweetness. No spice, no intrigue, no love..What is curry!Baby don’t hurt me!The coconut rice was no refuge for my disinterested taste buds either! Cotton candy and rice is all I could extract form this train wreck of a white supremacist dream curry. What am I eating?!Diabetics beware! You will loose a foot!
DO NoT EAT HERE!!! Last night my partner and I ordered the Pad See Ew and Pad Khee Mao on Uber Eats. When we opened the takeaway container for these dishes, the most disgusting , foul, off and mouldy smell came from the food. Both dishes smelt so gross and as we stirred through the dish it was very clear it was off. There was dirty powder throughout the food as well that wasnt a herb or spice mix ! The food looked incredibly old as well. My partner took a bite and wretched and spat out his food. We threw away the food straight away in the bin as we were concerned we could get food poisoning and couldnt stand to eat the food as it smelt and looked so horrible. I would advise against anyone eating here after this experience. We both agreed it was the worst food we have ever received in our life – within and outside of Australia. Very concerning.
Hadn’t noticed this tiny restaurant before since it was in a dark spot and the sign was small and not outstanding. The place lacked ambience; no artworks and interior design features. The whole restaurant didn’t look alive, but it’s ok if the main focus was takeaway and delivery. The prices were pretty cheaper than other Thais in the same area.Ordered a stir fry chicken with chilli and basil and a stir fry chicken with chilli paste. Both dishes came out visually appealing with colourful vegetables and in good portions. As a fan of stir-frys, we loved the taste of the wok, but those 2 meals missed it. All the ingredients of both dishes, seemingly, were cooked in the wok that not hot enough. The food tasted braised or even steamed; though the sauces/seasonings were quite nice (a little too sweet for spicy food lovers). Good stir-frys should have beautiful shiny glazed look and their vegetables should be tender crisp. The staff were nice and friendly, but adding up a bit more customer service would bring back more customers. All the best Tiny Thai.
Tiny Thai is the newest restaurant in Milton, being close to another 2 Thai restaurants which have been in the area for a long time it shows that the owner is probably proud of the food he is serving otherwise it would be too risky to do so.I had been beating around the bush probably checked their menu 2 or 3 times over the past week wondering if I should give it a go or stick with my regular option but today we finally decided to give it a try and I’m quite happy with what I was served. For entrees I ordered the taro puffs and the roti bread with peanut sauce, followed by a Panang curry with tofu and for dessert a black sticky rice with coconut ice cream. The Taro puffs which I had never had before were crunchy and golden outside with a mashy taro inside, the contrast between the salty pastry and the sweet taro was much appreciated and well balanced but we were left wondering if it didn’t need a sauce to make it an even better entree. I would rate it a 4 out of 5.The roti bread was also a strong and simple entree, with a crispy texture and a peanut sauce that was spicy, not too sweet and had a strong peanut flavour to it. Would also rate it a 4 out of 5.The Panang curry with tofu was a generous serving with a lot of veggies and tofu, the veggies were all cooked perfectly with a nice texture to all of them (my partner actually said the carrots were a bit hard but I disagree). The curry by itself had a nice spiciness to it and again a nice balance of sweetness and peanut but I felt like the flavour didn’t have depth enough to it. Also, the rice that we ordered was perhaps just a bit overcooked but nothing that made it a problem. I would rate it also a 4 out of 5.And for dessert, I think the ice cream wasn’t as creamy as I would have liked and I’m not a big fun of having something cold served on top of something hot as in my opinion I was left with warm rice and melted ice cream so I’d have prefered a coconut cream on top of the rice and maybe the ice cream on the side but the way it was served was still enjoyable. I think the dessert wasn’t a strong dish as the entrees and the main but was still enjoyable, I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5.Overall, it’s a nice addition to park road but they do have a tough competition around.
