Last night I went to Phon’s Thai in Minyama. I would count myself as a regular including taking my in-laws (from WA) there last year for dinner, they knew how much we liked the place and for Christmas they got us a $100 voucher. We had used $45 since Christmas. I went to use the rest last night (as vouchers are usually for 12 months) I was informed that it was only a 3 month voucher and they would not redeem the remaining $55. When I asked for management and explained that I am a regular customer and did not realize the voucher was out of date, his response in a nutshell was basically “that was my issue and the money is now there’s”… The way management spoke to me was extremely rude and should never be a way you speak to your customers. I will NEVER be back and would never recommend this place to ANYONE!
Really enjoyed the delivery service from Phon’s Thai. Food was hot, prompt delivery and employee’s gave good customer service. So happy to find our new fav thai place on the coast.
Mean Manager. We had a lovely waiter and the was good (quite pricey though). Unfortunately, while we were waiting for our meal the manager was loudly berating the waiter and did not seem to care that people could hear him. Regardless of this, the waiter was cheerful and friendly. It was a cold night and all the ceiling fans were going full bore! When we asked if the fan above us could be turned off a different told said ‘no’. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time! Wouldn’t recommend.
Disappointed and won’t be back.. Fish cakes had a mealy off putting texture, though the flavour was ok just gross mouth feel. Chicken Satay was fine, not ground breaking, just fine. Chicken Larb was bland, I did ask for it not too hot as sometimes I find it’s too hot to enjoy however this version of Larb had no zing of lime, no salt of fish sauce, no lively fragrant fresh herbs, just very blah. The Beef Massaman was thin with an odd after taste and the beef was stir fry strips, which we thought odd. We agreed it would be better for food costs and make for a delicious final product to use a slow cooking flavoursome beef cuts. Thought we would try a different place but were quite disappointed particularly as the product was really not of a standard worthy of the prices they ask. There are much better Thai places in cotton tree of much better value. No problems here paying for GOOD fresh, flavoursome food. Just not finding it at Phons. Was bad enough not to warrant second chance
Yummy. Had the prawn laksa and was delicious! Good service
