Envy cafe has an eclectic hippie healthy vibe and a delicious looking menu with a few interesting options to try. The service was friendly and the food was decent and generous in some breakfast options but the prices are not competitive with other good cafes. I had the potato rosti with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, baby spinach and fresh tomatoes. For this they charge $21.90! I was hoping for something amazing in flavour but the sauce was flavourless, the eggs overcooked and just plain spinach and 3 pieces of tomatoes on the plate. For something like this elsewhere I would expect to pay $12. A turmeric latte for $6.50! And it did not come with honey or a top up pot either. My family chose the acai bowl and the Bircher muesli. Both nice and generous with fresh fruit, but nothing amazing about the flavours. I had a refreshing apple and mint tea which was the highlight, but still expensive. We got some takeaway dessert slices to try and again, expensive, nice but not worth paying for again.
My brother was slightly disheartened when we pulled up at this cafe and he read on the sign ‘a healthy alternative’, it’s not the type of cafe he’d ever choose to go to.. I had found it on zomato and it looked nice so I wanted to go there. I assume the reason this place was so quiet at peak lunch time was because of the construction on the site next door, it was loud at times, and when they were possibly using the jackhammer the whole cafe vibrated. The staff apologised for the noise and we weren’t too bothered by it. After a quick look at the menu, I went up to the counter and ordered a juice and the corn cakes and my brother ordered a long black coffee and the eggs benedict on hash browns. My corn fritters were a bit crumbly but had good flavour, it was really nice with the sour cream and relish. My brother really enjoyed his eggs benedict and was particularly happy with his coffee, he said it was really nice and not too bitter. I’m undecided on whether I’d return to this cafe, maybe when the construction next door is complete. I liked how quiet it was compared to the cafes along the waterfront.
Such a great place to chill out and enjoy a pot of tea with a tea cosy that my nan would be proud of! Excellent smoothies to repair some of the damage after a night out.
Relaxed and chilled little cafe, love the rustic decor. Very friendly staff. Had the breakfast burger and sloth juice. Burger it self was a generous portion size, only point to pick on was the barbeque sauce on the egg plus the chutney made it overly sweet for me. Juice was nice and refreshing. Good overall
Breakfast bruschetta was excellent, the slow roasted tomatoes were sweet and flavoursome balanced by fresh rocket and feta. Serving was huge, I think can feed 2. Byron bay chai was a real pleasure. Friendly buzzing cafe with good variety.
