Food is actually pretty tasty but I was told Id get 6 wings and received 3 wings cut in half for $15 that would have cost the owner a dollar at most. …

This is another place that makes reasonable food. They probably charge too much for what you get, especially given their location, but generally acceptable. My big issue with this place is that when they get busy the manager or whoever seems to run the show gets really snappy generally unfriendly. With so many food choices I won’t be going back.
Awesome if you weigh 156kgs.Great for a laugh, i saw this one bloke (by himself of course) order enough food to feed Mali. 140 characters………
My sister got kicked out and abused by the owner for trying to use a gift voucher because it didn’t have the right numbers on it. Voucher was paid for in full. I’m sure the other customers in store loved the fists pounding the bench as you yelled at her.
I’m gonna start with my summary, so if you don’t read on here’s the low down on Carolina KitchenIt’s a place worth visiting once or twice but that’s it. My first visit some 2-3 years ago was awesome and I spent about $20 and left full of food. These days the servings are smaller than ever and the prices have gone up. Now I’d need to spend $40 to get a good fill. There are now better options around Brisbane on flavour & value. Hotdogs 3/5 – flavour is great, not 100% American as the chilly needs more sass more chilly more smoky flavours. But the price is had to comprehend, a good chilly dog like served at Pinks in California is simple and takes 15 seconds to assemble and costs $2… Why does it take 15 minutes and cost $8 here…? If you maintain a high price you have to offer value for money, make it a touch saucier and make it like a 30 second dish for those dropping by to pickup a car takeaway dog for the road… Chicken wings 3/5 – you got me here, it’s my weakness. However freshly prepared wings will always beat reheated ones, you used to make fresh and serve with that lovely vinegarette and blue cheese sauce, why did you change to reheat? It makes the outside soggy and the wings are just warm instead of hot, sometimes the coating becomes chewy because of the reheating process knocks off the fresh crisp coating you used to offer years ago. Ribs 1/5 – I won’t order when again, had them twice and they don’t represent value at all. There’s just no meat on the bone and paying $20 for saucy bones makes me feel like a dog licking the sauce as to not waste my money. Chilly fries 3/5- thin and matchstick like covered in a good helping of chilly, grab a fork you need it. Very authentic and lovely flavoured from the vegetable oil used. This is a dish worth getting. Even maccas is now doing loaded fries, Australia has discovered loaded fries finally… CK you can be proud to have offered it before the big guys and your loaded fries are heaps better because yours tastes fresher and comes with hot toppings (very American)Drinks 4/5 – heaps of places claim to be American, CK is one of the only places with a selection of imported American sodas. This is a highlight to visiting. Pie 5/5 – the only reason I want to come back, all the pies are great. Can’t go without a slice even if I’m full I can always find room in an hour for sweet sweet pie.
Overpriced small servings. We got the regular ribs and the serving was very small for nearly $20 with a measly teaspoon of potato salad. The sauce on the ribs was no better than what I can get out of a jar. We used to really enjoy the New York fries from here but last time we ordered there was only a very small amount of topping on them. For $8 very poor value. With all the American joints opening up Carolina Kitchen needs to lift their game!
We arrived at 5.45 and took a table for 2 outside (the one next to an empty lot). There were 2 other empty tables next to us. At around 6.15 the owner came out with the reserves sign and said ‘There’s a booking at 6.30’. A whole bunch of people sat around the table for a while. The owner came again and said, in a rude tone, ‘They are waiting for the table. That’s why I told you earlier there was a booking at 6.30’. When ordered, paid, and the food was delivered to the table, we were NOT advised there was reservation at 6.30 and whether we could finish our meal by that time. UTTERLY rude and no customer service at all. Not coming back. Food was not that great. Overrated.
Tried the hoagies, fries and pies; was really tasty and I like the setting – quiet little corner shop on a suburban road. The bread on the hoagies was fresh and the homemade pies were great.
