Discovered this bakery which was just adjacent to the Our Haus Cafe on the day that I visited the Chemistry of Coffee. Walked in and was warmly greeted by the very friendly owner. Ordered the Steak & Curry pie and a cold drink and had the pie on the table outside the shop. Pastry of the pie was soft. There was good depth of curry flavour. Those pieces of chunk beef definitely earned my appreciation. I am sure they are not the best but good enough for me to revisit in the future.
Love this place! It was my fave local bakery for years until I moved interstate – friendly people, excellent prices, old school deliciousness without a hipster beard or bun in sight. All the best comfort foods of my childhood, served with a smile and great value!
We usually buy our bread from here and after seeing how good the Pies and sausage rolls looked, thought that we should try one.Don’t do it, the Pastry on the sausage rolls was thick and undercooked, the three we bought were very doughy.The Chunky steak pie has coarse mince in it with lots of gristle rather than chunks of meat.All in all it was that terrible, I think we’ll even find somewhere else to get the bread.

Everytime I step in this bakery I’m greeted with warm smiles. I go here for the Vietnamese pork rolls – bunh mi. They have the tastiest pate I’ve ever had in bunh mi. Must try!
