Awesome service, we needed to alter a menu item as my wife is pregnant and they offered to swap it out with something else at no extra cost and then when I forgot to ask for scrambled instead of poached eggs they recooked them for no charge. The food was very tasty, the apple/berry frappe was yum and coffee was even better…definitely coming back.

I got scrambled eggs on thick toast with bacon. It was delicious but the plate was overloaded with bacon. Otherwise, I liked everything on the plate. I recommend this place

The old lady with the gold paint face. The old lady that works there really ruins the experience she’s by far the rudest lady I’ve ever come across. The gold painted eye lids don’t do her any justice either she’s prances around like she owns the place -UNFORTUNATLEY she OWNS it so no point going back as she’s always there treating ppl like shyt …She’s just a gastly woman and its shows throughout. It’d be ok if the food was good I can tolerate bad service if they churn out good food but it’s also gastly Ive had better food at boarding school. I ordered the corn fritters/haloumi/chorizo/poached eggs. My total bill was $44.8 and I didn’t even get haloumi with my meal the chorizo looked like they’d been cooked in a microwave it was a very poor experience don’t waste your money here it’s so expensive aswell and the lady there treats her customers like dogs .. And the gold eye lids all over my food I see bits of gold glitter .. It was really a once in a life time shit experience I hope they sell the place

Left a bad taste in my mouth. My friend and I recently went to this caf for lunch and walked away hungry and disappointed. The first thing that struck us was the high price for lunch….$19 for a coffee and 2 pieces of sourdough with avo, haloumi and salsa . The menu choices were extremely limited with a small piece of quiche in the window and the only options for food that were available it seemed were approx. 3 choices of lunch on a board on the back wall. There were some discrepancies on payment of the meal which did not put us off to a positive start. At no time did anyone provide or suggest a menu. When the meals came out they looked more like entre size and not adequate or appropriate enough to be called a substantial lunch. The coffee was milky and lacked a depth of flavour indicating that their quality of coffee is poor. I guess the fact that there were only 2 other people in the caf at prime time lunchtime should have been reason enough to go elsewhere. Unfortunately cant say we will be back.

Saturday morning let down. From the moment i walked in the lady behind the counter ignored my partner and i. After standing at the counter as if i didn’t exist the lady finally asked what i wanted. We ordered our coffees that were extremely over priced and waited. I ordered a Mocha which tasted like milk and chocolate and when my partner order a double shot flat white the lady barked at him that it already had two shots. We were also under the impression that it was supposed to be a deli…. it really wasn’t at all dont expect to go there and get fresh deli meats and cheeses etc. Im usually the most positive happy person but this lady really made my Saturday morning unpleasant.

Child labour. I always thought the public holiday 15% surcharge on Everything you order at a cafe was to compensate the owners for the penalty rates they pay staff working that day. It’s a bit stiff when this cafe charges the surcharge and the staff are the owners and their children with perhaps 1 employee. The 6 year old who brought my breakfast plate was ample proof. The male owner taking counter orders was the one who has cost this place my custom. Unaccustomed to the position was obvious. The charge of the full amount $7.40 for a half size frappe for a child was contentious. The muck up of the order by missing out the bacon part of the bacon and eggs was nearly forgiveable. The denial of the order when the error was brought to his attention was not. I know it’s tough to make a good living serving food but the cynicism on display today with contempt for your customers shouldn’t be rewarded. It’s a shun for me.That said the food is tasty and they have an employee who can make a coffee. If only the chef understood what a potato rosti is.

Great cafe. I have eaten at Thynne Road a few times now breakfast and lunches and the food has always been really delicious and the service always great. Definitely one of my favourite cafes.
